What to expect in Hossegor

Hossegor is one of Europe's flagship surf towns, famous for powerful beachbreaks, contest history, and an unmistakable surf atmosphere. It can produce exceptional sessions when banks, tide, and swell align, but it also comes with serious crowds, heavy closeouts on the wrong setup, and the fast-changing nature of beachbreak surfing. The area rewards surfers who like intensity and variety, but it is rarely a destination where good waves come without some form of crowd, traffic, or shifting-bank compromise.
